Munkaze Coffee is led by Ephrem Sebatigita — a 4th generation farmer and certified coffee expert whose family has cultivated these hillsides for over a century. What began as inherited knowledge has become a precision-driven operation at the forefront of East African specialty coffee, combining deep-rooted tradition with rigorous scientific methodology at every stage of production.

We grow our own arabica and receive cherry from small local growers and cooperatives across the Kayanza region, applying the same exacting standards to every lot we process. Every batch is fully traceable, documented, and cupped before export.

Portrait of a woman in the coffee-growing community

Women are not a footnote to our story — they are its foundation. From tending trees on steep hillsides to the careful hand-sorting that defines our quality standards, women drive Munkaze Coffee from farm to export.

“Their expertise, patience, and knowledge are embedded in every lot we produce.”

We are building a supply chain grounded in equity, traceability, and genuine respect for the land and the community that cultivates it.
